Telangana Government to Revolutionize School Education with AI and Digital Initiatives

NEWS CHARIOT : The Telangana government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, is set to bring about transformative changes in the state’s school education sector by fully integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital initiatives. This new approach aims to enhance the quality of education and introduce innovative learning methods that will improve technical standards and provide students with more advanced learning tools.
As part of this initiative, the state’s Education Department has decided to fully leverage AI and digital tools to improve the educational experience. The focus will be on developing improved study methods for students and enhancing their academic performance using advanced technologies.
In this regard, a high-level delegation from the state, led by Dr. Yogita Rana, Secretary of the Education Department, visited the EkStep Foundation in Bengaluru on January 30. The delegation included Krishna Aditya, Commissioner of Intermediate Education, EV Narasimha Reddy, Director of School Education, and other officials.
Founded by tech visionary and philanthropist Nandan Nilekani, co-founder of Infosys, the EkStep Foundation focuses on improving education, healthcare, and agriculture through the use of digital tools. The foundation is dedicated to providing better services by introducing digital solutions, and its efforts have already impacted several states across India.
On their visit to EkStep, the Telangana delegation discussed a range of educational initiatives, including:
- Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN): Using AI-powered digital tools to enhance primary education by improving students’ reading, writing, and numerical skills.
- AI-Powered Digital Initiatives: The introduction of AI-based platforms and tools to provide personalized learning experiences for students and improve their academic standards.
- Data-Driven Insights: Identifying learning gaps among students and implementing targeted initiatives to address these issues effectively.
- Teacher Professional Development: Providing teachers with comprehensive training in digital tools to effectively integrate technology into the classroom and improve teaching standards.
In addition, the delegation recently visited Kerala to examine the state’s success in implementing AI tools within its educational system. Kerala’s Education Department has effectively adopted AI-based tools, leading to improved educational outcomes. The Telangana Education Department aims to adopt these best practices to further enhance its educational standards.
