Warangal Police Commissioner Leads Anti-Drug 2K Run, Urges Youth to Reject Narcotics

NEWS CHARIOT : In a powerful anti-drug campaign aimed at promoting a healthy, drug-free lifestyle, Warangal Police Commissioner Amber Kishor Jha led a 2K Run against drugs and narcotics. The event, organized by the Telangana State Journalists Union, was flagged off at Pochamma Maidan junction in Warangal and witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty, and local youth.

The run saw active involvement from students and staff of Kakatiya Medical College (KMC), Chanda Kanthaiah Memorial (CKM) College, Degree and Junior College, as well as NCC students. The participants ran through key landmarks, including the Gopala Swamy Temple, MGM Junction, and Central Library, before concluding at Kakatiya Medical College.

During his address, Commissioner Jha emphasized the dangers of narcotics and strongly urged young people to avoid substance abuse. He warned that drug addiction poses severe risks to one’s future and urged the youth to adopt healthy habits, like going to bed early and waking up early. “Changing your habits can turn you into role models for the next generation,” he said, stressing the importance of leading by example.

Also present at the event were GWMC Commissioner Ashwini Thanaji Wakhde and KMC Principal Dr. Ramkumar Reddy, who both highlighted the critical need to combat drug abuse and encourage healthy living. The participants later took an oath to stand against the use of drugs and narcotics.

While the rally successfully raised awareness about living a drug-free life, it caused some inconvenience as traffic was diverted along the highway, affecting school and college-going students. Despite this, the event made a strong impact in promoting the message of health and wellness.
