Siricilla Weaver Crafts Divine Silk Saree for Bhadrachalam Sitarama Kalyanam

NEWS CHARIOT:-In a heartwarming display of devotion and craftsmanship, renowned Siricilla handloom weaver Veldi Hariprasad has created a unique silk saree as an offering for the celestial wedding of Lord Rama and Goddess Sita at Bhadrachalam, held during the auspicious occasion of Sri Rama Navami.

This isn’t just a saree—it’s a sacred work of art. Hariprasad spent ten days weaving the saree entirely by hand, turning pure devotion into a tangible gift. The saree, made with one-gram gold zari threads, weighs around 800 grams and stretches across seven yards.

One of the most notable features of this saree is the intricately woven image of the presiding deities of Bhadrachalam temple on the pallu. The lower border showcases sacred motifs such as the Shankha and Chakra symbols, and a reverent depiction of Lord Hanuman.

Adding a deeply spiritual touch, Hariprasad has woven the divine sloka “Sri Rama Rama Rameti…” 51 times into the fabric, enhancing its sanctity and devotional value.

Hariprasad has been continuing this tradition for the past three years, preparing sacred silk offerings for the Bhadrachalam Sitarama Kalyanam. His efforts have received widespread appreciation from the public and religious circles alike.

Despite the praise, Hariprasad expressed his wish for government support, requesting that such rare and sacred sarees be procured and presented through the Endowments Department. He also appealed to the Chief Minister to officially involve Siricilla weavers every year for Sri Rama Navami celebrations, allowing the tradition to continue and grow.

The saree stands as a symbol of devotion, artistic excellence, and cultural heritage, bringing global attention once again to the legacy of Siricilla’s master weavers.
