Telangana to Train 2 Lakh AI Engineers, Partners with Singapore to Boost Tech Ecosystem

NEWS CHARIOT:-In a major push towards making Telangana a global technology hub, State IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu announced the government’s ambitious plan to train two lakh Artificial Intelligence (AI) engineers. The initiative aims to equip the state’s youth with future-ready skills and meet the growing demand for AI talent.
The minister made this announcement during a high-level meeting with a delegation from Singapore, led by Consul General Edgar Pang, at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Secretariat on Monday. The meeting focused on enhancing bilateral collaboration in emerging technologies, industrial development, and skill advancement.
Minister Sridhar Babu shared Telangana’s vision to become a hub for emerging technologies, highlighting key infrastructure projects like the Future City and the upcoming AI University, being developed to international standards. These projects are expected to attract global investments and create a sustainable ecosystem for innovation.
He noted that Hyderabad is rapidly evolving into a centre for Global Capability Centers (GCCs), with over 70 centers from sectors including IT and hospitality established within the past year. The minister also emphasized the state’s strategy to decentralize industrial growth, encouraging investments in tier-2 cities such as Warangal and Karimnagar.
“The goal is not just to build infrastructure but to create opportunities,” he said, stressing the importance of upskilling local youth and fostering international partnerships.
The Singapore delegation expressed interest in Telangana’s tech-driven approach and discussed potential collaboration in technology, industrial development, and skill-building initiatives. Minister Sridhar Babu urged the delegation to help raise awareness among industrialists about Telangana’s investor-friendly environment.
The meeting was attended by Consul Vaishnavi Vasudevan, First Secretary (Economic) Vivek Raghu Raman, and Enterprise Singapore Regional Director (India–South) Dennis Tam.
This partnership with Singapore is expected to strengthen Telangana’s position on the global tech map, while opening up new employment avenues for its youth.
