Telangana Government Gears Up for Saraswati Pushkaralu at Kaleshwaram

NEWS CHARIOT:-The Telangana Congress government is making significant strides in promoting temple development across the state, with a special focus on organizing the upcoming Saraswati River Pushkaralu at Kaleshwaram in Bhupalpally district. Ministers Konda Surekha and Sridhar Babu officially launched a dedicated web portal and mobile app for the event and unveiled its official poster.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Konda Surekha emphasized that the current government is committed to the development of all temples, unlike the previous regime which, she alleged, neglected most temples except for Yadagirigutta. She said that the government is ensuring adequate facilities for devotees and making grand arrangements to celebrate the Pushkaralu with devotion and grandeur.
The Saraswati Pushkaralu will be held from May 15 to May 26, during which large numbers of devotees are expected to participate. The government has sanctioned ₹35 crore for various developmental activities in the region. A key highlight will be the installation of a 17-foot monolithic idol of Goddess Saraswati at Kaleshwaram.
Minister Surekha also announced that special rituals including homams and harathis will be performed daily by scholars and priests from Kashi over the 12-day period. “We are leaving no stone unturned to ensure that devotees have a spiritually fulfilling and comfortable experience,” she added.
Minister Sridhar Babu highlighted the spiritual significance of Kaleshwaram, describing it as the Triveni Sangam of Telangana, where the Godavari and Pranahita rivers merge, with the Saraswati river flowing underground (Antarvahini). He recalled that the previous Saraswati Pushkaralu were successfully organized in 2013 during the Congress tenure and expressed happiness that the event is being revived under the same leadership.
The event is expected to draw pilgrims from Telangana, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh. To accommodate them, the government is setting up a 100-bed tent city near the venue.
With a spiritual atmosphere and large-scale arrangements in place, the Saraswati Pushkaralu at Kaleshwaram is set to become one of Telangana’s major religious events this year.
