Most Wanted Gangster Hardeep Singh Alias ‘Happy Passia’ Arrested in the U.S

NEWS CHARIOT:-Hardeep Singh, infamously known as ‘Happy Passia’, one of India’s most wanted gangsters with alleged ties to multiple terrorist organizations, has been arrested in the United States. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), in coordination with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO), apprehended Singh in Sacramento, California.
Singh is accused of being involved in several terrorist activities in Punjab, India. He has long been on the radar of both Punjab police and central intelligence agencies, with a reward of ₹5 lakh announced for information leading to his capture. According to official sources, Singh entered the U.S. illegally and used burner phones to remain undetected.
The FBI and ERO confirmed the arrest and released his photos in custody. An official statement from the FBI mentioned that Singh was being investigated for links with at least two international terror groups. Intelligence agencies suspect he was connected with Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), Babbar Khalsa International (BKI), and the Harvinder Singh Rinda terror network.
Security officials claim Singh played a key role in planning and executing various attacks in Punjab. One of the major cases linked to him is the January 2025 blast near the Gumtala police post in Amritsar, which destroyed a senior police officer’s vehicle. Following the attack, Singh reportedly issued threats and vowed to retaliate against police actions targeting his family.
The arrest is being hailed as a significant breakthrough by Indian security agencies, which had been working closely with international counterparts to track Singh’s movements. Sources suggest that he had been hiding in the U.S. for an extended period, evading authorities through fake identities and untraceable communications.
Singh is currently in U.S. federal custody, and discussions regarding his extradition to India are expected to begin shortly. The arrest underscores growing international cooperation in tackling terrorism and organized crime.
