KL Rahul Breaks IPL Record, Becomes Fastest to 5000 Runs

NEWS CHARIOT:-In an exciting clash between Delhi Capitals and Lucknow SuperGiants, KL Rahul delivered a remarkable performance that not only led his team to an impressive 8-wicket victory but also helped him break a major IPL record. The match, part of the IPL 2025 season, was held at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow, where Delhi Capitals chased down a modest target of 160 runs in just 17.5 overs.

Rahul, alongside his teammates Abhishek Porel and Axar Patel, played a key role in sealing the win, and his brilliant knock of 57 runs was the highlight of the game. With his 57-run innings, Rahul surpassed Australian star David Warner’s record, achieving the 5000-run milestone in just 130 innings. Warner had previously held the record with 135 innings. In terms of the fastest players to reach 5000 IPL runs, Rahul now leads the list, followed by Warner, Virat Kohli (157 innings), AB de Villiers (161 innings), and Shikhar Dhawan (168 innings).

As of now, Rahul has played 139 IPL matches and batted in 130 innings, accumulating 5006 runs at an impressive average of 46.35, with a strike rate of 135.71. His IPL career includes four centuries and 40 half-centuries, with 425 fours and 203 sixes. His highest score in the tournament remains 132 runs.
