Massive Fire Ravages Slum Area in Hayathnagar’s Kuntloor

NEWS CHARIOT:-A massive fire broke out on Friday in Ravi Narayana Reddy Nagar at Kuntloor, Hayathnagar, causing widespread destruction of hundreds of huts belonging to the underprivileged community.

According to reports, the fire started in one of the huts near Ambedkar Crossroads and rapidly spread to surrounding huts, fueled by strong winds and closely packed structures. Panic-stricken residents ran out of their homes to save themselves as thick plumes of smoke and towering flames engulfed the area.

Upon receiving a distress call, fire officials rushed to the scene. Four fire engines were deployed initially, and later two more were dispatched to bring the situation under control. Firefighters battled the flames for several hours before managing to douse the majority of the fire. Authorities confirmed that explosions of domestic gas cylinders significantly intensified the blaze.

District Fire Officer Keshavulu informed the media that the fire station received an alert about an hour before, and teams from LB Nagar and Hayathnagar were immediately mobilized. “Approximately 300 to 400 huts have been destroyed. Thankfully, no casualties have been reported so far,” he said. He also mentioned that two more fire engines were en route to ensure complete control over the remnants of the fire.

However, the fire spread rapidly, and cylinder explosions in nearby huts worsened the situation.Officials are investigating the incident, and steps are being taken to provide relief to the affected families.
