India-Pakistan Conflict Escalates with Air, Naval Strikes and Civilian Precautions
NEWS CHARIOT:-Tensions between India and Pakistan have escalated dramatically following retaliatory attacks by both sides in the wake of Operation Sindh. The conflict has resulted in missile and drone exchanges targeting major cities, towns, and military installations near the border.

Pakistan attempted to strike Indian army and air force bases, notably the key airbase at Pathankot in Punjab, using missiles and fighter jets. However, Indian forces successfully intercepted the attacks, capturing a Pakistani pilot. Attacks were also attempted in Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Jammu and Kashmir, but India’s preemptive measures thwarted these efforts.

In a major escalation, India deployed its aircraft carrier INS Vikrant, which launched a missile assault on Karachi port, reportedly destroying the port and multiple ships. Concurrently, India fired surface-to-air missiles at military installations across Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Sialkot, and Rawalpindi, also crippling Pakistan’s air defense systems in Punjab and Lahore.

Due to heightened security risks, Indian police in major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, and Amritsar have urged citizens to avoid public gatherings. Precautionary blackouts occurred Thursday night in Jammu and Kashmir and Amritsar, mirrored by similar actions in Pakistan.

The Indian government has indicated intentions to reclaim Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, viewing it as a terrorist launchpad. Military analysts suggest the war could continue for weeks, with both sides preparing for prolonged conflict.

Authorities warn that extended hostilities may disrupt the supply chain of essential goods. Citizens are advised to stock up accordingly. While the southern Indian states remain vigilant due to their long coastlines, the Indian Navy and Air Force maintain strong surveillance to ensure safety.
