Lone Elephant Causes Panic in Chittoor District

NEWS CHARIOT (Chittoor, Dec.20) : A lone elephant has been causing unrest in the Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh, particularly in the Palamaneru constituency. For the past week, the elephant has been roaming near the village of Gantavoor, creating fear among the locals.
The elephant has been frequently appearing on roads during the night, posing a threat to commuters and attempting to attack vehicles. Close to a paddy storage facility near the national highway, the elephant has created havoc, damaged property and causing panic. The elephant has reportedly entered villages such as Mogili, Gauri Shankarapuram, Mogalivaripalli, and Tekumanda Mamidikunta. It has caused destruction to houses and attacked agricultural fields, leading to significant losses for farmers.
Farmers and residents are anxious about potential attacks, as the elephant roams freely and unpredictably, especially at night. The presence of a lone elephant has left local residents and farmers worried about their safety and property. Fear grips the community as the unpredictable behavior of the elephant continues to disrupt their daily lives.
