Fire Accident During Fireworks Display at Hussain Sagar: Engineering Student Missing After Fire Accident
NEWS CHARIOT : – A major fire accident occurred at Hussain Sagar Lake around 9 PM on the night of the grand Maha Harathi event, which was marked by fireworks launched from boats. During the fireworks display, a fire broke out, engulfing two boats. Fortunately, five people aboard the boats jumped into the water and escaped with their lives. However, one person sustained severe injuries and is currently being treated at a local hospital.
The incident occurred moments after the Governor, Shri. Vishnu Dev Varma, and Union Minister, Shri. Kishan Reddy, had left the scene. The fireworks were being launched from a jetty, which was tied to another boat in the lake. As a rocket was fired into the air, it fell back onto the fireworks on the boat, triggering the fire.
The injured person, identified as Ganapati, is in a state of unconsciousness, receiving treatment at Secunderabad Yashoda Hospital. Four others suffered minor injuries and were transferred to Gandhi Hospital for treatment. Union Minister Kishan Reddy visited the injured victims to offer his condolences.
The fire caused extensive damage to the two boats, which were completely burned in the blaze. Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire and ensuring safety measures are tightened for future events.
Engineering Student Missing After Fire Accident at Hussain Sagar
Hyderabad Police are actively searching for 21-year-old Ajay, an engineering student who went missing during a fire accident at Hussain Sagar Lake on Sunday night. The incident occurred during the Bharat Mata Maha Aarti programme, part of the Republic Day celebrations.
Ajay, a first-year B Tech student from Nagaram, was attending the event with friends when fireworks ignited on a boat, causing a blaze. While his friends managed to escape the fire unharmed, Ajay has not been found and remains untraceable. Authorities have launched a search operation, combing the area and nearby waters in hopes of locating him.
The fire broke out as part of the fireworks display, which was part of the grand Republic Day festivities. The police are working with local authorities and divers to locate the missing student, as the investigation continues.
