14 Maoists Surrender in Bhadradri Kothagudem as Part of ‘Operation Cheyutha’

The surrenders are being attributed to the success of ‘Operation Cheyutha,’ a program jointly conducted by the Bhadradri Kothagudem district police and the 81st and 141st battalions of the CRPF. The initiative aims at promoting the development and welfare of the tribal people in the region while encouraging Maoist members to abandon violence and embrace a peaceful life. The Telangana government, through its rehabilitation schemes, has been offering support to those willing to leave Maoism behind and live a better life with their families.
District SP Rohit Raju expressed his satisfaction over the development and emphasized that the surrendered Maoists are being provided immediate assistance through government schemes. The authorities have committed to ensuring the former insurgents are successfully reintegrated into society, where they can live peacefully with their loved ones.
This marks a major milestone in the district, with a total of 227 Maoists having surrendered since January 2025. Many of these individuals are from neighboring states like Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh. Some prominent Maoist leaders, including Burra alias Dula from Bijapur, Kadula Adime alias Radhika, and others from the Vajedu Venkatapuram Area Committee, have also surrendered in recent weeks.
The authorities are hopeful that more Maoist members will continue to abandon their extremist ideologies and choose to live a life free from violence, contributing to the peace and development of the region.
