20 govt. school students selected in TED talk competition
NEWS CHARIOT (KARIMNAGAR, Dec.11) : Around 20 members of the government school students were selected in the district level TED (Technology, Entertainment and Design) talk selection competition that was held here at the premises of the Paramita School in Karimnagar.
Speaking on the occasion, the TED curator K.Hanmantha Rao said that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the district education department and Paramita TED club under the auspices of district collector Pamela Satpathy to train the students of government schools.
As per MoU school level competitions were conducted across the district during which as many as 350 members of government high school students participated in the competitions of which 60 students were selected at mandal level and then in the competitions that were conducted 40 students were selected at district level.
All the 40 students were provided special training freely on various subjects they had chosen and helped them in doing research along with developing presentation skills with providing free accommodation for two days by the Paramita TED Club.
Of the 40 students, 20 members were selected for the Paramita TED Club. They will be provided comprehensive training in various subjects along with providing free books, internet facility, food and accommodation for a period of three years, he added.
District Collector Pamela Satpathy who attended as a chief guest for the programme said that the partnership with the Paramita TED club will be highly helpful for the government school students to excel on the international stage in their future.
She appreciated the Paramita Educational Institutions for conducting training programmes so that the government school students can showcase their skills and can speak fluently without any fear on the world stage.
