NEWS CHARIOT (Jangaon, Nov.6) : The statue of Donald Trump when once received pujas and milk bath is now in a neglected state even after Trump registered a grand victory as the president of the United States of America for the second time here in Konne village of Bachhannapet mandal in Jangaon district.
One Bussa Krishna, die-hard fan of Donald Trump built his six-foot statue in front of his house in 2018 and used to conduct regular pujas and used to bathe it with milk along with keeping it neat and clean.
When Trump caught Coronavirus during the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic, Krishna offered special prayers to the statue by breaking coconuts and even conducted an annadana programme in the village for his speedy recovery.
He used to wear T-shirts with Trump photos and used to offer prayers along with Hindu gods on special occasions and festivals until he died in 2020 suffering from sudden cardiac arrest.
After the death of Krishna, his family members left the village selling their house and two acres of land which he owned. From then onwards, there was no one to take care of the Trump statue.
Shankar, the tenant who resides at Krishna’s house speaking to Deccan Chronicle said that if Krishna would have been alive, he would have painted the statue, offered special prayers and would have celebrated the occasion very grandly in the village by inviting all the villagers.
Even though some of Krishna’s friends remembering him how used to treat the statue with great care as a tribute to Krishna celebrated Donald Trump’s victory by garlanding his statue in the evening, he added.
