7-Kilo Tumor Removed from Woman in Rare Surgery at Huzurnagar Hospital
NEWS CHARIOT:-In a rare medical procedure, a 7-kilogram tumor was successfully removed from the ovary of a woman at Vishnu General Laparoscopic Hospital in Huzurnagar. The woman, a resident of Thalla Malkapuram village in Garidepally Mandal of Suryapet district, had been experiencing persistent abdominal pain for several weeks.
On Wednesday, she visited the hospital located opposite Sai Baba Theatre in Huzurnagar for diagnosis and treatment. Dr. Ananthu Vishnuvardhan Goud conducted a series of medical tests and a detailed scan on Thursday, which revealed a massive tumor near the ovary weighing approximately 7 kilograms.
Recognizing the complexity and risk involved, Dr. Goud and his team performed an emergency laparoscopic surgery. The tumor was successfully removed, and the patient is now reported to be in stable condition. Hospital authorities confirmed that the woman is recovering well and under close observation.
Medical professionals highlighted the fact that such tumors often do not show any clear symptoms, making early detection difficult. “Many times, these kinds of tumors are discovered accidentally while investigating other health conditions,” said Dr. Goud. “When tumors grow to such large sizes, they can press against the bladder, leading to frequent urination or urinary tract infections.”
Experts noted that ovarian and uterine tumors are most commonly found in women between the ages of 30 and 50. While these conditions are relatively common, they can become serious if left undiagnosed. Regular health check-ups and early screenings are vital in identifying such growths before they reach critical stages.
“Routine scans and medical tests can help in early diagnosis,” added Dr. Goud. “If detected early, such conditions can often be treated without any major risk.”
This successful operation highlights the importance of timely medical intervention and regular health screenings, particularly for women in the risk-prone age group.
