NEWS CHARIOT (Hanamkonda,Nov.15) : The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGRTC) is going to introduce 82 new electric buses in the Warangal region, said the regional manager D.Vijay Bhanu here in Hanamkonda.

He said that the RTC is going to operate the buses in special routes from Warangal to Hyderabad, Nizamabad, Eturnagaram, Mangapet, Khammam and Bhupalpally.

Of the total 82 electric buses, there are 19 super luxury, 14 deluxe, 21 semi-deluxe and 29 express. The Delhi based JBM company made a contract with the TGRTC to run this special bus service.

There is a seating capacity of 41 passengers in the super luxury buses and 45 with 2+2 seating pattern in the deluxe and semi-deluxe buses. While in express buses the seating capacity of passengers is 55 with 2+3 pattern along with air suspension in front and back of the seats. With one-time full charging, the buses will cover 360 kilometers at a maximum speed of 80 kilometers per hour.

Vijay Bhanu said that the buses are equipped with one month backup system with a huge cabin for luggage storage, two internal security cameras are installed along with vehicle tracking system, panic buttons for every seat, USB charging facility for mobiles, 12 High voltage batteries and two low voltage batteries, LED display boards, hold-brake system when the passengers are not present along with warning system when the driver accidentally opens the bus door.
