Abhishek Sharma’s Explosive 60 Off 22 Balls Stuns Opponents in Times Shield Match

NEWS CHARIOT (Hyderabad, Dec.12) :  In the Times Shield match, Sunrisers Hyderabad opening batsman Abhishek Sharma stunned everyone with his remarkable batting performance. Scoring 60 runs off just 22 balls, Abhishek switched to full T20 mode and left the opposition bowlers in awe. The left-handed batter, with his powerful shots, dominated both pacers and spinners alike, sending the ball to all corners of the ground. His speed and aggressive play highlighted his exceptional skills once again, proving his ability to take on any bowler.

Abhishek Sharma had already impressed everyone with his exceptional form in the Mushtaq Ali Trophy. In a match against Meghalaya, he scored a century off just 28 balls, equaling the record set by Gujarat’s Urvil Patel in the same tournament. Abhishek, who hit 11 sixes, broke the record for most T20 sixes in a single calendar year by an Indian, previously held by Suryakumar Yadav.

It is no surprise that Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) decided to retain Abhishek Sharma ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction. In IPL 2024, Abhishek played a key role in leading the team to the final, scoring 484 runs in 16 matches at an average of 32.26 and a strike rate of 204.21. The opening partnership he established with Travis Head became the backbone of SRH’s success, with their aggressive batting putting pressure on opposing teams.
