Adilabad District: A Land of Struggles for Land and Sustenance – Says Nitin Gadkari

NEWS CHARIOT:-Union Minister Nitin Gadkari highlighted the special history of Adilabad district, known for the struggles of the tribal communities fighting for land and sustenance. Speaking at an event in Kagaznagar, Komaram Bheem Asifabad district, Gadkari inaugurated several national highways, emphasizing the region’s deep connection to its past struggles.
Gadkari elaborated on the significance of road development, stating that the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana is a key initiative under which roads are being built across the country. “A nation can only progress if its roads are in good condition,” he stated, initiating his address with warm greetings to the people of the region. He also paid tribute to the social thoughts of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, stressing that social upliftment remains central to their goals.
Addressing the challenges of the poor, the minister pledged to continue efforts to provide shelter, food, and employment opportunities for all. “Every youth must get employment,” he said, reflecting on the government’s commitment to welfare. He shared his experiences, mentioning that in the past, some villages saw just an hour of water supply, which has now increased to 12 hours.
Gadkari emphasized the ongoing water storage projects, such as desilting dams and ponds, which would significantly benefit farmers and address water scarcity issues. He also shared his vision for expanding national highway connectivity, with nearly 5,000 kilometers of roads in Telangana, up from 2,511 kilometers when he took charge.
The minister reassured that tribal areas, including Adilabad and Mulugu districts, would be well connected by highways, driving growth in these backward regions. He announced a series of green highway projects, including a ₹17,000 crore Green Expressway project, aiming to further improve connectivity across Telangana.
Gadkari’s speech also included plans to launch several national highway projects in the region, promising a transformative effect on local infrastructure and economy.
