AP Government Unveils 2025-26 Budget with Key Welfare Scheme

NEWS CHARIOT:-Andhra Pradesh Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav presented the 2025-26 budget, marking a significant milestone as the state’s financial plan has surpassed ₹3 lakh crore. This substantial increase is primarily due to enhanced allocations for welfare schemes, fulfillment of manifesto promises, and large-scale development projects. The government has placed a strong emphasis on the welfare sector, focusing on the effective implementation of its “Super Six” promises, which aim to uplift various sections of society.

One of the key welfare initiatives is the Annadata Sukhibhava scheme, under which each farmer will receive ₹20,000 in financial assistance. Similarly, the Talli Ki Vandana scheme will provide ₹15,000 to mothers of students studying in grades 1 to 12, covering both government and private schools. These funds will be directly transferred to the beneficiaries’ bank accounts, ensuring seamless financial support.A new health insurance scheme will offer ₹25 lakh coverage per family, strengthening healthcare accessibility. This will be implemented alongside the existing NTR healthcare services, ensuring a comprehensive medical safety net for residents.

For free electricity benefits, SC and ST families will receive up to 200 units per month, while weavers will get 200 units for handlooms and 500 units for power looms. Additionally, Nayee Brahmins running salons will also be eligible for 200 units of free power.The government has also prioritized housing projects, with plans to build over 7 lakh houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and 2 lakh houses under TIDCO. SC beneficiaries will receive ₹50,000, while ST beneficiaries will get ₹75,000 in additional support.To aid fishermen, financial assistance during the fishing ban period has been increased from ₹10,000 to ₹20,000. Funds have also been allocated for Deepam 2.0, and the Aadarana scheme has been revived.

This ambitious budget is designed to boost state development while ensuring the successful implementation of strong welfare programs.
