NEWS CHARIOT:-Former Government Chief Whip and BRS Hanamkonda District President Dasyam Vinay Bhaskar has strongly criticized the Congress government and demanded the immediate repeal of the four labor laws introduced by the Centre. Speaking at a press conference with trade union leaders at the BRS Party District Office in Balasamudram, he announced that May will be celebrated as Labor Month across Telangana.
Vinay Bhaskar highlighted that the previous BRS government, under KCR’s leadership, had introduced various welfare measures for both organized and unorganized workers, especially during the COVID-19 crisis. He noted the establishment of a dedicated board for construction workers, insurance coverage, and annual medical camps as part of Labor Month celebrations.
A village flag unveiling is scheduled for May Day, along with roundtable meetings of all trade unions throughout the month. He said the party will campaign against the new labor codes and educate workers about their rights and the importance of cooperative societies.
Demands made during the press meet include Rs 25,000 minimum wage for municipal outsourcing workers.Increase of NREGS workdays to 150 and daily wage to Rs 350.Minimum wage guarantees for gram panchayat workers.Implementation of salary hikes for Anganwadi, ASHA, and field assistants.Revocation of the 2014 cut-off for beedi workers’ pensions.Rs 12,000 annual support for auto drivers as promised by Congress.
Vinay Bhaskar called for full support to make the May 20 nationwide strike a success. Trade union leaders from various sectors participated in the press meet.
