Candlelight Vigil Held in Hyderabad to Honor Victims of Pahalgam Terror Attack

NEWS CHARIOT : In a solemn display of unity and compassion, a candlelight vigil was organized on Friday evening to honor the memory of those who lost their lives in the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. The event, held at Necklace Road, witnessed a strong turnout of political leaders, international delegates, and citizens alike.

Under the leadership of Congress Party Publicity Secretary Kalvakuntla Ramya Rao, the gathering began at People’s Plaza and proceeded in a peaceful march toward the Indira Gandhi Statue, forming a symbolic path of solidarity.

Panchayat Raj Minister Seethakka, along with several prominent women leaders from the Congress party, took part in the vigil, offering prayers for the departed souls and expressing unwavering support for the victims and their families.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy also joined the march, standing shoulder to shoulder with the people of Telangana to condemn the act of terror and emphasize the state’s commitment to peace and unity.

Adding a significant international dimension to the event, delegates attending the Bharat Summit in Hyderabad also participated in the vigil. Their presence highlighted the global condemnation of terrorism and the universal call for harmony.

Speaking at the event, Kalvakuntla Ramya Rao stated, “This is not just a vigil. It is our way of saying that terror cannot break our collective spirit. We stand together — for peace, for justice, and for the families who’ve endured this tragedy.”

Security arrangements were in place, and the event concluded peacefully with the lighting of candles and a moment of silence observed by all attendees.
