CBSE Extends Deadline for Single Girl Child Scholarship Applications till February 8, 2025

NEWS CHARIOT : The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has extended the deadline for applying for the Single Girl Child Scholarship until February 8, 2025. Students can apply through the official CBSE website at cbse.gov.in. The board has issued a notice regarding the extension.

This scholarship is offered to female students who are the only child of their parents. Eligible students will receive ₹1000 per month for a period of two years, amounting to a total of ₹24,000 over the scholarship duration. To qualify, students must have secured a minimum of 70% marks in their 10th grade exams.

Eligibility and Criteria:

The scholarship will be awarded based on merit, as per CBSE 10th class exam results.
Students should currently be in 11th or 12th grade.
A minimum of 70% marks in 10th grade is required.
The monthly tuition fee for 11th and 12th should not exceed ₹2500.
The annual family income should be under ₹8 lakh.
For the scholarship to be renewed, the student must secure at least 50% marks in the 11th grade.
If the student wishes to change subjects or schools, prior approval from CBSE is necessary.

During the scholarship period, students may also be eligible for additional discounts or privileges from their schools or other institutions. This scholarship serves as an important financial aid program for deserving and talented students, helping them to pursue their education.
