Child Abduction Case Solved: 5 Women Arrested for Kidnapping 8-Year-Old Boy

NEWS CHARIOT :
A heartbreaking incident took place at a railway station when Sachita Begum, a mother who had traveled from Assam, fell asleep on a platform with her 8-year-old son, Sakibuddin. Upon waking up, she found that her son was missing. In a state of panic, Sachita immediately sought the help of railway police. A widespread search operation was launched around the Central Railway Station to locate the child.
The child, Sakibuddin, had been reported missing on January 12, 2025. His mother had filed a missing person’s report shortly after the incident. Police launched an investigation into the case, reviewing CCTV footage from the station. The footage revealed that the boy had been abducted by a group of women who appeared to be beggars, and the police began to piece together their movements.
After analyzing the CCTV footage and gathering intelligence, investigators identified that the women had likely been traveling on trains across various stations, abducting vulnerable children. The police confirmed that the women were indeed responsible for the disappearance of Sakibuddin. They had taken the child under the guise of their begging activities.
Over the next ten days, the police worked relentlessly to track down the suspects. The authorities identified the five women involved in the crime as Anjamma, Uma, Saraswati, Satyavati, and Veeranjamma. All five women were residents of the Narsaraopet region. Through continuous surveillance and by circulating their photos across several railway stations, the police were able to locate the women.
On January 26, 2025, the women were caught while attempting to move the boy to a different location. They were arrested and taken into custody by railway police, who acted quickly to prevent the situation from escalating further. The arrested women were later transported to Chennai for further interrogation and investigation.
According to local railway police, the women may have been involved in previous child abductions. Given their pattern of traveling by train while engaging in begging, investigators are now focusing on uncovering the full extent of their activities. A thorough investigation is underway, with police working to dismantle any larger trafficking network these women may have been a part of.
