CM Chandrababu Naidu Lauds Amit Shah’s Leadership at NDRF Event, Seeks More Central Support for AP

NEWS CHARIOT : At a special event marking the inception of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) in Kondapavuluru near Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu praised Union Home Minister Amit Shah for his exceptional leadership in disaster management. He acknowledged Shah’s unwavering commitment to the NDRF, noting that the force’s capabilities are unmatched, particularly in times of natural disasters like those in Japan, Nepal, and Turkey, where the NDRF’s services were praised internationally.
CM Naidu remarked that he is often envious of Amit Shah’s working style and dedication, particularly his focus on disaster management. He said that the NDRF has the strength to handle tasks that many other departments cannot. He further emphasized that the central government, under Amit Shah’s leadership, has already extended significant assistance to Andhra Pradesh, and the state continues to seek more support to further its development.
Reflecting on the history of NDRF’s involvement in the state, CM Naidu mentioned the establishment of NDRF and the National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM) in Andhra Pradesh, aimed at training personnel for disaster response. The initiative was inaugurated in 2018 by former Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh. He noted that the government had provided 50 acres of land for the institutions’ development, which continues to be pivotal in the region’s disaster management efforts.
During the event, CM Naidu praised Amit Shah’s contributions to disaster management and his strategic focus on ensuring preparedness for any disaster. “Whenever there is a disaster, NDRF is the first to respond. They have saved millions of lives,” Naidu said.
On the economic front, CM Naidu highlighted the significant challenges faced by Andhra Pradesh, particularly the mounting debt of ₹10 lakh crore, along with high interest payments. He also mentioned the commencement of the construction of the Polavaram diaphragm wall and the crucial support from the central government for the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant. “The ₹11,440 crore allocated for Visakh Steel has breathed new life into the region. More support from the Centre will allow us to continue advancing the state’s development,” Naidu added.
