CM Chandrababu Performs Bhumi Puja for His Own House in Amaravati

NEWS CHARIOT:-Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday performed the Bhumi Puja for the construction of his personal residence in the capital city Amaravati. The ceremony took place near the AP Secretariat in Velagapudi, where Naidu plans to build his home on a five-acre plot.
Currently residing in a rented house in Undavalli, Naidu and his family have decided to establish a permanent residence in Amaravati. In December last year, he purchased five acres of land from local farmers for this purpose. On Wednesday morning, the Chief Minister, along with his family, conducted traditional rituals to mark the beginning of construction.
The new house will be built behind the Velagapudi Secretariat, adjacent to E9 road. Of the total five-acre property, 1,455 square yards have been allocated for the house itself. It is planned as a G+1 (Ground plus one) structure. The construction is expected to be completed within a year, after which the Naidu family will move out of their rented accommodation in Undavalli.
The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by his wife Nara Bhuvaneshwari, son Nara Lokesh, daughter-in-law Brahmani, and grandson Devansh. The event was held in a private setting, with only close relatives present.
With this new construction, political analysts believe Naidu is addressing long-standing criticism from the opposition, particularly from YSRCP leaders. The opposition had frequently pointed out that while former CM Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy owned a residence in the capital region, Chandrababu was operating from a rented house and frequently traveling from Hyderabad.
Naidu already owns a residence in Hyderabad, an ancestral house in Naravaripalli, and is also building another house in Santhipuram within his Kuppam constituency. However, the lack of a personal house in Amaravati has become a political talking point in recent years.
By establishing a home in the heart of the capital, the Chief Minister appears to be reinforcing his commitment to Amaravati’s development while simultaneously silencing critics who questioned his stake in the capital’s future.
