CM Revanth Reddy Inaugurates First Young India Police School in Telangana

NEWS CHARIOT:-Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Thursday inaugurated the first-ever Young India Police School (YIPS) at Manchirevula, marking a significant step toward providing quality education to the children of police personnel. The initiative, modeled after military schools, is a prestigious project by the state government aimed at offering holistic education with a focus on discipline, academics, and physical development.
During the inauguration ceremony, CM Revanth Reddy unveiled the foundation plaque and inspected the school’s infrastructure. The event witnessed the participation of Minister Sridhar Babu, senior police officers, and local public representatives.
The YIPS project has been designed to serve the educational needs of children from police families, particularly those of officers who lost their lives in the line of duty. As per the admission policy, 50% of the seats in the school are reserved exclusively for children of police personnel—from constables to IPS officers. Priority will be given to children of fallen officers. The remaining 50% of seats are allocated to local students through an open-category system.
Admissions are currently open for Grades 1 to 5, and parents can apply via the official YIPS website. Each grade will accommodate 40 students, totaling 200 seats across all five classes. Of these, 100 seats are dedicated to children from police families.
The school is set to offer education aligned with CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) standards while maintaining affordable fee structures. In addition to academic excellence, the curriculum will emphasize physical training and sports, mirroring the values of discipline and service upheld by police forces.
Speaking at the event, CM Revanth Reddy highlighted the importance of supporting police families and ensuring their children receive high-quality education. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to creating more such institutions in the future to uplift and empower communities associated with public service.
The launch of YIPS represents a forward-thinking move by the Telangana government, combining quality education with social responsibility.
