Collector Emphasizes Quality Meals in Welfare Hostels

NEWS CHARIOT (Bhadradri Kothagudem, Dec.12) :  District Collector Jitesh V Patil has stressed the importance of providing quality meals to students residing in BC Welfare hostels. The government has revised the current menu and issued orders to enhance the meal standards by increasing the allocation by 40%. This move aims to ensure better nutrition and well-being for the students pursuing their education in these hostels.

As part of efforts to ensure quality meals for students in BC Welfare hostels, an awareness program was conducted on Thursday at the BC Welfare Hostel in Palvancha of Bhadradri Kothagudem district. The event focused on implementing the revised diet charges and providing nutritious food. BC Welfare Hostel officers and staff from across the district participated in the program.

District Collector Jitesh V. Patil, who inspected the program, emphasized maintaining food safety standards, ensuring clean drinking water, and serving hygienic meals. He recommended utilizing kitchen gardens to grow moringa, tamarind, curry leaves, jackfruit, and gooseberries. Additionally, he stressed the importance of kitchen cleanliness, proper storage of food grains, and forming food safety committees with student involvement.

The Collector also urged a focus on achieving excellent results in Class 10 exams by creating countdown charts for students to manage their time effectively. He suggested drafting a special action plan to ensure better academic outcomes in the current academic year. The program was attended by District BC Welfare Officer Indira, who contributed to the discussions.
