Congress Government’s Commitment to Farmers and Development in Warangal-Ponguleti
NEWS CHARIOT (WARANGAL, JAN.7) : The Minister for Information and Public Relations and Revenue departments, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, emphasized that the Congress government is ready to extend the Rythu Bharosa scheme benefits to the BRS party chief K. Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR), and all farmers, irrespective of political affiliations. His statement reflects the government’s commitment to providing financial assistance to farmers and improving the agricultural sector.
Accompanied by other key ministers such as Ponnam Prabhakar, Konda Surekha, and MP Kadiam Kavya, as well as MLAs Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy chaired a review meeting regarding ongoing developmental works in Hanamkonda.
During the meeting, Srinivas Reddy spoke to the media about the Rythu Bharosa scheme, an initiative aimed at providing financial support to farmers. He shared that the guidelines for the scheme were finalized after extensive consultations with farmers, land experts, and intellectuals from across the state. Under this scheme, from January 26, the Republic Day, farmers with eligible agricultural land will receive Rs. 12,000 per acre annually.
Srinivas Reddy highlighted that despite the state’s economic crisis, the Congress government is committed to supporting landless agricultural laborers, offering Rs. 12,000 annually, which is a significant initiative that no other state government in India has provided to such an extent.
Indirect Criticism of BRS Leadership
The minister also made pointed remarks, indirectly criticizing the BRS party and its working president K.T. Rama Rao (KTR). He suggested that if legal action were to be taken against those involved in illegal financial activities, such as sending poor people’s money abroad, the BRS leadership, instead of supporting legal processes, behaves in an inappropriate manner. The minister assured that the government’s efforts would counter these actions and provide a fitting response to the opposition’s criticisms.
Development of Warangal
Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy praised Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for his commitment to the full development of Warangal, and assured the public that the government has allocated significant funds for various developmental works in the region. He also noted that efforts are being made to modernize the RTC (Road Transport Corporation) without harming the environment, mentioning the introduction of electric buses as part of these initiatives.
He further assured that the new technology introduced in the state capital, Hyderabad, would also be implemented in Warangal, ensuring that the city benefits from the latest advancements.
