Dates Fixed for Grand Telangana Bonalu Festival Celebrations!

The historic Golconda Fort Sri Jagadambika Ammavari Bonalu will mark the beginning of the celebrations on June 26th (Thursday). The festival will then continue with weekly Bonam offerings on subsequent Thursdays and Sundays. The nine Bonam scheduled are June 26th (Thursday) – First Bonam,June 29th (Sunday) – Second Bonam,July 3rd (Thursday) – Third Bonam,July 6th (Sunday) – Fourth Bonam,July 10th (Thursday) – Fifth Bonam,July 13th (Sunday) – Sixth Bonam (also Secunderabad Bonalu),July 17th (Thursday) – Seventh Bonam,July 20th (Sunday) – Eighth Bonam (also Lal Darwaza Bonalu),July 24th (Thursday) – Ninth Bonam (Festival Conclusion).

The Secunderabad Ujjaini Mahankali Ammavari Bonalu is scheduled for July 13th (Sunday), and the grand Lal Darwaza Simha vahini Ammavari Bonalu will be celebrated on July 20th (Sunday). These events are expected to draw massive crowds, with last year’s Golconda Bonalu alone seeing over 25 lakh devotees in attendance. Authorities anticipate an even larger turnout this year, preparing extensive arrangements for crowd management, security, and amenities.

Bonalu is a traditional Hindu festival celebrated with immense devotion by the people of Telangana, primarily in honor of the Goddess Mahankali. Women carry decorated pots filled with rice and offerings to temples, accompanied by drummers and folk performers in vibrant processions. The event symbolizes thanksgiving and prayers for protection, health, and prosperity.

With the dates now confirmed, excitement is building among devotees, temple committees, and cultural groups across the state. The Telangana government is expected to release further details soon regarding logistics, special buses, and security protocols.
