Fake British Surgeon Arrested After 7 Deaths in Madhya Pradesh Hospital

NEWS CHARIOT:-In a shocking revelation that has shaken the medical community, a man posing as a renowned British cardiac surgeon was arrested after performing 15 surgeries at a missionary hospital in Damoh, resulting in the deaths of seven patients.

The accused, identified as Narendra Vikramaditya Yadav, had been operating under the alias Dr. N. John Cam, claiming to be a UK-based heart specialist. Sporting blonde-dyed hair and a fair complexion, Yadav carefully cultivated a foreign appearance and was hired by the hospital through a placement agency. He told hospital authorities he wished to serve humanity in India and was offered a monthly salary of ₹8 lakh.

Yadav’s credentials included multiple fake degrees and a registration with the Andhra Pradesh Medical Council, which he used to secure his position. His professional profile falsely claimed 15,000 successful surgeries and experience at prestigious hospitals across India and abroad.

During January and February 2025, Yadav performed 15 heart procedures, of which seven patients tragically died. As complaints from the victims’ families mounted, a probe by the District Medical Officer revealed he had conducted unauthorized angiographies and angioplasties without genuine qualifications.

Upon discovery, Yadav resigned and absconded. He was finally arrested in Prayagraj (Uttar Pradesh) after a brief manhunt. Authorities have now dubbed him the “Death Doctor”.

Further investigations unearthed his involvement in a 2006 case in Chhattisgarh, where he allegedly operated on the then Assembly Speaker Rajendra Prasad Shukla at Bilaspur’s Apollo Hospital. The speaker died post-surgery, and it’s now suspected that Yadav was behind that botched operation as well.

Police have recovered dozens of forged degrees from his possession, each tailored to suit job applications. His true identity and two-decade-long fraudulent medical career are under intense scrutiny, and officials are exploring links to other possible malpractice cases across the country.

This incident raises serious concerns about credential verification and the risks posed by medical impostors operating within the healthcare system.
