Governors Unveil National Flag at Republic Day Celebrations in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh
NEWS CHARIOT : In Telangana Republic Day celebrations across Telangana were held with grandeur. At the Secunderabad Parade Grounds, Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan (Jishnu Dev Varma) unfurled the National Flag. Following the flag hoisting, she received a salute from the police forces. The event was graced by Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, ministers, MLAs, and senior officials.
In her speech, Governor Jishnu Dev Varma highlighted the crucial role of agriculture in the state’s economy, stating that more than 25 lakh farmers had benefited from loan waivers. She also announced plans to provide financial support to agricultural laborers through the Indiramma Aastha scheme and mentioned bonuses given to farmers for sannarakum (short-duration) rice. Additionally, she shared that 1.59 crore metric tons of rice were produced in the 2024 Kharif season. The Governor also pointed out the Rs. 4,500 crore savings for women through free bus transportation and announced the establishment of the Young India Skill University to empower the youth.
In Andhra Pradesh, as part of the 76th Republic Day celebrations, Governor Justice Abdul Nazeer unfurled the National Flag at the Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium in Vijayawada. The event was attended by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan, and other dignitaries. Prior to the flag hoisting, Governor Nazeer received an honor from the armed forces, including the police, Indian Army, NCC cadets, and Scouts and Guides.
During his speech, Governor Justice Abdul Nazeer emphasized the people’s desire for development. He acknowledged the efforts of the TDP government in fulfilling the aspirations of the public. He also criticized the previous government for the financial debts that had caused economic challenges in the state. However, he assured that the current government was taking steps to restore financial stability and meet the needs of the people.
