Grand Celestial Wedding of Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy Celebrated in Komuravelly

NEWS CHARIOT (Siddipet,Dec.29) : The celestial wedding of Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy with his consorts, Kethala Devi and Medala Devi, was celebrated with grandeur and devotion on Sunday, adhering to the temple’s long-standing traditions. A massive number of devotees from various parts of the state gathered at the Komuravelly temple to witness the annual Kalyanam ceremony.

The event was presided over by Jagadguru Mallikarjuna Vishwavaradhya Shiva Charya, who performed the rituals with utmost sanctity. Notable dignitaries, including Jangaon MLA Palla Rajeshwar Reddy and Bhongir MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy, attended the event alongside other leaders and officials. Silk garments (vastrams) were ceremonially offered to the deities on behalf of the State government by the officials.

To ensure the smooth conduct of the festivities and safety of the devotees, the police deployed 300 personnel around the temple premises. Additionally, the temple management engaged 70 outsourced staff and 100 volunteers, who contributed to managing the large crowds and maintaining order.

Anticipating an overwhelming turnout, the temple authorities prepared 60,000 laddu prasadams and five quintals of pulihora (tamarind rice) for distribution among the devotees. The entire temple complex was adorned with vibrant lights, creating a festive and spiritual atmosphere.

The celestial wedding is one of the most significant events at the Komuravelly temple, drawing thousands of devotees each year. The seamless coordination among the police, temple authorities, and volunteers ensured that the devotees experienced a smooth and memorable darshan on this auspicious occasion.
