On Monday, the Maha Pattabhishekam (grand coronation) of Lord Rama will be held at the Bhadrachalam temple. On the occasion of Sri Rama Navami (Sunday), the celestial wedding of Lord Rama and Goddess Sita was celebrated with grandeur at Bhadrachalam. Devotees were immersed in chanting Rama’s name, while Vedic scholars performed the rituals with sacred mantras.
The day began at 2:00 AM with Suprabhata Seva for the Lord, followed by various rituals including Thiruvaradhana, offering of Naivedyam, Mangala Aashirvachanam, and Abhishekam. The divine wedding was later conducted for the Utsava Murthis (festival deities).
The event was attended by Minister for Endowments Konda Surekha, Chief Secretary Shanti Kumari, Principal Secretary Shailaja Ramaiyer, and Commissioner Sridhar. At 9:45 AM, the deities were taken in a procession to the Kalyana Mandapam at Mithila Stadium. They were seated on a Golden Throne, and the jewelry commissioned by Bhakta Ramadasu was adorned to the divine couple.
For the first time since assuming office, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, accompanied by his wife Geetha, offered silk robes and pearl-studded turmeric balls (talambralu) to Lord Rama and Goddess Sita on behalf of the state.
The couple arrived at the temple at 11:33 AM and received blessings from Vedic scholars. At 11:45 AM, they reached Mithila Stadium, where they presented the offerings during the Jeelakarra Bellam (traditional turmeric-paste ritual). At 12:00 PM, during the auspicious Abhijit Lagnam, the sacred turmeric paste was placed on the deities’ heads, followed by the Mangalya Dharana (tying of the sacred wedding thread) with three threads.
