Grand Sita Rama Kalyanam Tomorrow at Vontimitta

NEWS CHARIOT:-The sacred town of Vontimitta in Kadapa district is all set for the celestial wedding of Lord Sri Kodanda Rama and Goddess Sita, to be held on April 11 as part of the ongoing annual Brahmotsavams. The celebrations, organized by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), began on April 7 and will continue till April 14 with grandeur and devotion.
The fifth day of the Brahmotsavams saw the deities of Lord Rama, Sita, and Lakshmana adorned in Mohini Alankaram, captivating devotees with their divine presence. Traditional music, floral decorations, and the Jagadabhi Ramayya Vahana Seva brought festive energy to the temple town. Devotees, gathered in large numbers, offered camphor harathis and chanted prayers in the temple streets.
The highlight of the celebrations, the Sita Rama Kalyanam, will be conducted tomorrow evening from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM under the bright full moon (Pournami night). TTD has made elaborate arrangements for the event, including the preparation of one lakh talambralu packets, consisting of sacred rice mixed with pearls, to be distributed among devotees.
Adding significance to the event, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will attend the Kalyanam and offer silk garments and mutyala talambralu to the divine couple on behalf of the state government. The CM will stay overnight at the TTD guest house in Vontimitta and is scheduled to return to Vijayawada on April 12.
The Brahmotsavams are being held with great devotion at the historic Sri Kodanda Rama Swamy temple, often referred to as the “Second Ayodhya.” Other key events include Garuda Seva, Rathotsavam on April 12, Chakrasnanam and Dwajarohanam on April 14, and the grand Pushpayagam on April 15 from 5:30 PM to 9:00 PM.
TTD is ensuring that all arrangements meet the spiritual and logistical needs of the thousands of devotees expected to attend the remaining events of the Brahmotsavams.
