Grand Start to Saraswati Pushkaralu in Kaleshwaram

NEWS CHARIOT:-The sacred Saraswati Pushkaralu began on a grand note today in Kaleshwaram, Bhupalpally district, with elaborate arrangements made by the Telangana state government. The 12-day river festival, held once every 12 years, is expected to draw thousands of devotees from across the state and beyond.
The festivities were formally launched at 5:44 AM with holy dips performed by Sri Sri Sri Madhavananda Saraswati Swamiji, the Peethadhipathi of Toguta Ashram. Later in the evening, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy is scheduled to participate in the ceremonial Pushkara snanam (holy bath) and unveil a newly installed monolithic idol of Goddess Saraswati at the Pushkar Ghat.
In preparation for the festival, the government has taken extensive steps to ensure a smooth and comfortable experience for devotees. A massive movie-style temple set has been created around the Saraswati idol over nearly one acre, becoming a visual highlight of the celebrations.
Accommodation facilities have been significantly expanded, with a 100-room guest house and a large dormitory made available near the main temple. In addition, a tent city with 100 rooms equipped with air conditioning and coolers has been set up at the ghat, available for devotees on a rental basis.
Infrastructure around the ghats has been upgraded with new cement roads, permanent restrooms, and bathing rooms. Overhead water tanks have been installed to provide drinking water, while shaded pandals offer comfort from the heat. Separate showers and changing rooms have also been arranged for devotees taking the holy dip.
To cater to pilgrims’ spiritual and nutritional needs, the Sri Kaleshwara Muktheshwara Swamy Devasthanam is distributing prasadam, including laddu and pulihora. Free meals and prasadam distribution counters have also been established as part of the temple’s service to devotees.
With all arrangements in place, officials expect a massive turnout over the next several days as the Pushkaralu continues, blending devotion with tradition in a spiritually charged atmosphere.
