Hyderabad Bans Firecrackers Amid Security Concerns, Says CP CV Anand

NEWS CHARIOT:-In light of the tense national security situation, Hyderabad Police Commissioner CV Anand has announced a strict ban on the use of firecrackers within the city limits. The prohibition applies to all occasions, including weddings, festivals, shop inaugurations, and any public or private celebrations.
The decision comes as a preventive measure amidst heightened alert levels due to ongoing terrorist threats and the prevailing “war-like atmosphere” in the country. CP CV Anand emphasized that the sound of firecrackers could be mistaken for explosions, potentially causing panic and confusion among the public.
“Firecracker sounds can disrupt peace, create unnecessary fear, and even interfere with the response of our security forces during emergencies,” said CP Anand. He warned that anyone found violating the ban will face immediate arrest and legal consequences. Crackdown measures also extend to sellers, with warnings issued to firecracker vendors to halt all sales immediately.
The Commissioner explained that the current environment demands maximum vigilance. Any disturbance, even accidental, could result in misinterpretation, leading to chaos or misjudged emergency responses. The police department is taking these steps to ensure the safety and peace of all residents in the city.
To further tighten security, the Hyderabad Police have intensified their presence in sensitive and high-risk zones. A heavy deployment of forces has been made in problem-prone areas, with officers under strict orders to monitor suspicious movements and activities.
Commissioner Anand is personally overseeing the implementation of security measures and is in constant communication with field officers. He reassured citizens that Hyderabad Police are fully committed to protecting them from potential threats and maintaining law and order.
“These restrictions are temporary but essential. Public cooperation is crucial in such times,” said CP Anand, adding that the ban on firecrackers will remain in effect until further notice.
