Hyderabad Police Busts Child Trafficking Gang, Rescues 10 Infants

NEWS CHARIOT:-Rachakonda Police in Hyderabad have successfully dismantled a child trafficking gang involved in the illegal sale of infants. Acting swiftly, the police conducted an operation on Wednesday, rescuing ten infants from the clutches of the traffickers. This crackdown highlights the growing concern of child trafficking networks operating across multiple states under the guise of adoption services.
The police investigation uncovered that the gang tricked families by pretending to facilitate legal adoptions. Instead, they illegally sold the children to buyers in Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh. The authorities have so far confirmed that this gang has trafficked at least 18 infants in these states. The perpetrators took advantage of vulnerable families, often targeting poor households where parents struggled to provide for their children.
Among the key members of the trafficking network is a woman named Amulya, who played a significant role in the operations. She was arrested today by the police, who have vowed to take strict action against all those involved in such crimes. Rachakonda Police Commissioner Sudheer Babu emphasized that no one engaged in these unlawful activities would be spared and that the police remain committed to ensuring justice for the victims.
Commissioner Sudheer Babu also revealed that a total of 27 individuals have been arrested so far in connection with this child trafficking racket. The rescued infants include six girls and four boys. Investigators found that Amulya worked as an ASHA (Accredited Social Health Activist) worker, using her position to gain access to vulnerable children. She and her accomplices facilitated illegal adoptions and sold children for financial gain.
The police have urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities related to child trafficking. Authorities have also assured that stringent legal action will be taken against those involved in such heinous crimes, reinforcing their commitment to protecting children from exploitation.
