NEWS CHARIOT : Ahead of the much-anticipated Inavolu Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy Jatara, scheduled to be held from January 13 to 15 in celebration of Sankranti, Congress party Wardhannapet MLA K.R. Nagaraju has called for extensive preparations to ensure the smooth and successful conduct of the three-day festival. The MLA emphasized the need for coordination between the district administration, endowment department, and local public representatives to provide necessary amenities and safety measures for the large number of devotees expected to attend.

Accompanied by District Collector Praveenya, KUDA Chairman Enagala Venkatram Reddy, City Mayor Gundu Sudharani, TESCOB Chairman M. Ravinder Rao, and GWMC Commissioner Ashwini Tanaji, MLA Nagaraju held a review meeting at the temple premises in Inavolu, Hanamkonda district, to discuss the arrangements.

Key Arrangements for Devotees and Public Safety:

During the meeting, MLA Nagaraju stressed the importance of focusing on essential aspects such as clean water supply, proper accommodation, sanitation, and orderly queues for the devotees. Special attention was also given to the comfort of women devotees, with plans for separate bathing and changing rooms, as well as designated toilets for men and women. Temporary health camps will also be set up to ensure the well-being of the pilgrims.

The MLA further directed that the various concerned departments work in close coordination to avoid any inconvenience to the large crowd. Emphasizing public safety, he instructed the police to implement tight security measures to prevent any untoward incidents during the festival.

Managing the Large Chariot Procession:

One of the major highlights of the Sankranti celebrations will be the grand chariot procession. The MLA called for meticulous planning to ensure that the procession runs smoothly without any hindrances or obstacles. He also instructed temple authorities to regulate the prices of puja materials and coconuts during the jatara to ensure they remain reasonable for the devotees.

Long-term Development Plans for the Temple:

KUDA Chairman Enagala Venkatram Reddy expressed his commitment to the long-term development of the Inavolu Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy temple. He instructed the officials to draft a comprehensive development plan that focuses on creating permanent facilities for future generations. He assured that if required, funds would be allocated from KUDA for the temple’s development.

The officials are working on making this year’s jatara a memorable and successful event while addressing the needs and concerns of the devotees. The preparation for the grand festival is progressing, and it is expected to attract a large turnout.
