India Executes ‘Operation Sindoor’ in Retaliation for Pahalgam Terror Attack

NEWS CHARIOT:-In a bold retaliatory move against the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, the Indian armed forces launched precision strikes under Operation Sindoor, targeting terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). In a joint media briefing, Foreign Secretary Vikram Mishri, Colonel Sophia Qureshi, and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh confirmed the operation, which resulted in the destruction of nine key terror camps.

The April 22 attack, claimed by The Resistance Front (TRF), an affiliate of Lashkar-e-Taiba, killed 26 civilians, including 25 Indian tourists and a Nepali national. Mishri described the assault as one of the deadliest since the 26/11 Mumbai attacks and accused Pakistan of harboring terrorist infrastructure and failing to act despite international pressure.

The strikes, conducted between 1:05 am and 1:30 am on May 6-7, were based on actionable intelligence and aimed at neutralizing training centers and launch pads. Colonel Qureshi detailed the carefully chosen targets, which included Lashkar and Jaish-e-Mohammed camps in Muzaffarabad, Kotli, Bimber (PoK), and Sialkot, Muridke, and Bahawalpur (Pakistan). Among the high-profile sites hit was Markaz Taiba, where 26/11 attackers Ajmal Kasab and David Headley were trained.

Wing Commander Singh emphasized that only terror-related infrastructure was hit, with precision-guided weapons used to avoid civilian casualties and military targets.

Mishri reiterated that the operation was a calibrated response, aligned with the UN Security Council’s call to hold perpetrators accountable. He added that Pakistan had unsuccessfully tried to pressure the UN into downplaying TRF’s role.

India’s response, he said, was restrained yet resolute, aimed at preventing future attacks and upholding regional security.
