India Repels Major Drone Infiltration by Pakistan, Launches Counter-Attacks on Defense Sites

NEWS CHARIOT:-In a significant escalation of cross-border tensions, Colonel Sophia Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh confirmed that Pakistan launched a massive drone and fighter jet attack targeting Indian military installations, including airbases at Bathinda and Udhampur. The Indian Armed Forces responded swiftly, successfully neutralizing the aerial threats and carrying out retaliatory strikes on Pakistani defense infrastructure.
Briefing the media, Colonel Sophia Qureshi stated that on the night of May 7-8, Pakistan violated Indian airspace along the western border multiple times. She revealed that Pakistani drones attempted infiltration at 36 different locations, deploying between 300 to 400 drones. “Our forces intercepted and shot down many of these drones before they could cause any damage,” she said.
The Pakistani offensive targeted four Indian airports and aimed at damaging critical military infrastructure. In addition to the drone attacks, Pakistan also fired heavy-caliber weapons across the Line of Control (LoC), intensifying the conflict. The attempted strikes were aimed at destabilizing air defense capabilities and infrastructure near the border.
Wing Commander Vyomika Singh added, “The Indian Air Force swiftly repelled the attack. We responded by launching armed drones targeting four air defense (AD) sites inside Pakistan.” One of the Indian drones successfully destroyed a Pakistani AD radar. The retaliation caused significant damage to Pakistan’s military installations.
He further confirmed that while India did suffer casualties and injuries among Army personnel, the Pakistani side faced heavy losses due to India’s precision counter-attacks. “Our forces remain vigilant and are prepared to respond to any further provocations with decisive force,” said Singh.
This development marks one of the most intense aerial confrontations in recent times between India and Pakistan, showcasing the increasing use of drone warfare and high-tech responses from both sides.
