Kakatiya Descendant Amal Chandra Bhanj Deo Visits Warangal, Emphasizes Cultural Values

NEWS CHARIOT:-Amal Chandra Bhanj Deo, a descendant of the Kakatiya dynasty, visited the historic city of Warangal, paying homage to the region’s rich heritage. During his tour, he offered special prayers at the iconic Bhadrakali Temple and the Thousand Pillar Temple, both significant cultural and spiritual landmarks.

The royal scion was warmly received by former BRS MLAs Vinay Bhaskar and Nannapaneni Narendra at Hanamkonda. Several BRS party members accompanied him throughout the visit, marking the occasion with traditional honors.

Speaking to the media, Amal Chandra Bhanj Deo humbly described himself not as a ruler, but as a servant of the people. “I am not a king. I am just a servant. Only one who serves can understand what it truly means to lead,” he said. He stressed that a true king is one who dedicates himself to public service. He acknowledged his role as a priest in one of the 52 Shakti Peethas and emphasized the importance of understanding the impermanence of life.

Criticizing modern lifestyles, Deo expressed concern over the cultural erosion among children. “We are unknowingly leading our children away from our roots. Instead of encouraging visits to museums or scientific exhibitions during holidays, we are pushing them toward cinema, restaurants, and theme parks that have no cultural connection,” he observed.

He also highlighted the growing influence of Western culture in India, while Western nations themselves are beginning to appreciate and respect Indian traditions. “It’s easy to question, but difficult to practice,” he remarked, citing how traditional attire like dhoti and pajama are still followed at places like Puri Jagannath Temple, reflecting India’s cultural identity.

Sharing his experiences abroad, he said, “When I studied in London, I observed that most students lived without the support of extended families like grandparents. That made me value our family system even more.” He concluded by stating, “After returning from abroad, I witnessed rampant corruption here. Culture comes before education. Your understanding of global dynamics and your contribution to the world define your true educational value.”

He called upon everyone to protect and preserve India’s cultural heritage, which he believes is a collective responsibility.
