Lost for 14 Years, Boy Reunites with Family in an Emotional Homecoming

NEWS CHARIOT:-A heartbreaking story of separation took a heartwarming turn when a young boy, who had been missing for 14 years, was finally reunited with his family. Neeraj Kannaujiya, who got lost in Mumbai at the age of eight, was traced back to his parents in Varanasi through a WhatsApp video call.

The ordeal began when Neeraj’s father, Punwas Kannaujiya, moved to Mumbai with his two sons for work. Neeraj was employed at a bakery but, driven by curiosity, wandered off without informing anyone. He unknowingly embarked on a journey that would keep him away from his loved ones for over a decade.

After getting lost, Neeraj traveled across different locations before ending up at Gudur Railway Station in Nellore district. Railway police found the stranded boy and placed him under the care of Swarna Bharat Trust, a social welfare organization in Andhra Pradesh.

At the trust, Neeraj received shelter, education, and vocational training. Under the guidance of Deepa Venkat, the trust’s managing trustee, he learned essential skills such as plumbing, electrical work, and driving. However, he remained unaware of his family’s desperate search for him.

Recently, trust officials traveled with Neeraj to Mumbai to help locate his family. Based on his recollections, they identified his father’s former workplace and contacted his family via WhatsApp video call. The moment was filled with emotions as his parents burst into tears, unable to believe their long-lost son had finally been found.

Following the emotional call, Neeraj was brought back to his home in Varanasi. His parents expressed deep gratitude to Swarna Bharat Trust, calling them “a second family” for raising their son and helping him find his way back.This extraordinary reunion is a testament to the power of kindness, perseverance, and fate.
