Mamta Kulkarni Takes Spiritual Turn, Becomes Kinnar Akhara’s Mahamandaleshwar

NEWS CHARIOT : After being absent from the glamour industry for years and facing allegations in a high-profile drug case, Mamta Kulkarni, who left India two decades ago, has made a surprising return to the country. Fans, who were eager to know if she would make a comeback to films, were left astonished by her latest decision.
In an unexpected move, Mamta Kulkarni has embraced spirituality and has taken sanyas (renunciation) during the ongoing Kumbh Mela. She was named Mahamandaleshwar of the Kinnar Akhara, a community that represents transgender people. She has also changed her name to Shriyamai Mamta Nandagiri.
A Life of Spiritual Pursuit:
Mamta Kulkarni shared that she has been preparing for this spiritual journey for the past 23 years. Expressing her happiness, she compared her spiritual achievement to winning an Olympic gold medal. “I have been on this path for 23 years, and finally, I have embraced sanyas,” Mamta said, reflecting on her decision. She also revealed that returning to films is no longer on her agenda.
Mamta stated, “I do not have the desire to return to films. That phase is over for me. The Kinnar Akhara values freedom and doesn’t impose any restrictions, and that’s why I chose to be a part of this group.”
Spirituality Over Fame:
Speaking about her spiritual journey, Mamta emphasized that life is about balance and every aspect has its place. However, she believes that true spiritual awakening only comes with grace and good fortune. Drawing a parallel with Buddha’s journey, Mamta pointed out, “Buddha experienced everything in life before making the decision to change his path.”
Mamta Kulkarni, known for her roles in Hindi films like Karan Arjun and Sabse Bada Khiladi, and Telugu hits like Prema Shikharam and Donga Police, has now chosen a life of spiritual fulfillment over the allure of the film industry.
