Man Declared Dead in Private Hospital Found Alive During Funeral Procession in Karnataka

NEWS CHARIOT : In a shocking incident in Karnataka’s Dharwad district, a man who was declared dead by doctors and was being taken for his final rites was found to be alive. The dramatic turn of events unfolded near Bankapur, where the family was transporting the body in an ambulance. The man is now undergoing treatment at the KIMS Hospital in Hubballi.
The incident occurred on February 10, when 45-year-old Vishnappa Ashoka Gudimani, also known as Master, from Manjunatha Nagar in Bankapur, was declared deceased by doctors at a private hospital in Dharwad. Vishnappa had been suffering from illness for the past few days and had been receiving treatment at the hospital. The doctors observed symptoms such as stopped breathing and declared him dead.
After the declaration, Vishnappa’s wife, Sheila, and relatives took his body in an ambulance to his hometown in Bankapur. On the way, as they approached Bankapur, Sheila asked, “Shall we stop for food?” It was then that the body moved, surprising everyone. His wife and relatives immediately took him to Shiggaon Hospital, where doctors confirmed that Vishnappa was still alive.
After receiving initial treatment, Vishnappa was transferred to KIMS Hospital in Hubballi for further care. In a bizarre twist, the same ambulance that had been carrying the body to the final destination was used to take him to KIMS.
While Vishnappa’s family had already made arrangements for his funeral at their home, they were overjoyed to learn he was alive. Sympathy banners were set up by his friends along the route, and news of his death quickly spread on WhatsApp and social media. These banners were later removed from Bankapur town.
Vishnappa is currently receiving treatment in the emergency department at KIMS, Hubballi, and his family is awaiting his full recovery.
