Medicover Hospital Hosts World Kidney Day Awareness Event

NEWS CHARIOT:-The kidneys play a crucial role in the human body, often referred to as the “King,” stated Dr. Ramachander Torrem, Nephrologist, and Dr. Aneesh Pabb, Cardiologist, from Medicover Hospital.

To mark World Kidney Day, Medicover Hospital organized a health awareness session and free medical camp on Thursday at SRR College Grounds, Karimnagar. The event, themed “Kidney Diseases… Doubts… Answers…”, aimed to educate the public about the significance of kidney health, early detection of kidney diseases, and preventive measures.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Ramachander and Dr. Aneesh stressed that kidney diseases often go undetected in the early stages, which can lead to severe health complications, including kidney failure. They emphasized that lifestyle changes, a balanced diet, regular exercise, and avoiding harmful habits such as smoking and alcohol consumption play a vital role in maintaining kidney health. Additionally, individuals suffering from conditions like diabetes and high blood pressure are at a higher risk of kidney disease and should undergo regular health checkups.

The experts also highlighted the harmful effects of excessive painkiller use, which can gradually damage the kidneys. They recommended that people at risk should monitor their kidney function through annual screenings, as early diagnosis can prevent complications.

Dr. Ramachander further explained that kidney dysfunction not only affects the kidneys but also has a direct impact on the heart and other vital organs, making preventive care and timely intervention essential.

The event was conducted under the leadership of Medicover Center Head Gurram Kiran, with participation from prominent medical professionals, including Dr. Vinay (Anesthesiologist), Dr. Vishnuvardhan (Anesthesiologist), Dr. Upender Reddy (Critical Care Specialist), Dr. Venkatesh (Neurosurgeon), and Superintendent Ravi Malla Reddy.

The initiative aimed to spread awareness, encourage preventive healthcare measures, and emphasize the importance of kidney health in overall well-being.
