News Chariot (Warangal MGM, Oct 28) : The doctors of the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial (MGM) hospital conducted a Bronchoscopy successfully and removed a piece of groundnut that accidentally entered into the lungs of a two-years-old boy here in Hanamkonda.

The hospital Superintendent Dr.Ch.Murali said that one Abdul Samaad, resident of Mallampally mandal of Mulugu district admitted his two-years-old son into MGM hospital on Wednesday when his child was suffering from cough and breathing problems from the past one week.

The doctors after taking out C.T.Scan diagnosed that a piece of groundnut entered into the right side of the lung (in bronchus). They decided to remove it by using Bronchoscopy technology which is very difficult to conduct.

It is a procedure that allows the doctors to examine the inside of the lungs through windpipe trachea using a thin and flexible tube called a Bronchoscope which has a light and lens so that the doctors can view the foreign particles and can remove them.

Under the leadership of Dr.Venkatrathnam, the team of doctors which include Dr.Jashuva, Dr.Ram Lal and team of anesthesia conducted Bronchoscopy successfully and removed the piece of groundnut from the right lung of the child, he added.
