Milind Soman and Ankita Konwar Attend Maha Kumbh Mela

NEWS CHARIOT : Actor-model Milind Soman and his wife, Ankita Konwar, visited the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, on the auspicious occasion of Mauni Amavasya. The couple, surrounded by thousands of devotees, participated in the sacred ritual of taking a holy dip in the Triveni Sangam, the confluence of the Ganges, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati river.

Milind took to social media to share his gratitude for the spiritual experience, posting pictures from their visit. He wrote, “Blessed to be at the Mahakumbh with @ankita_earthy on the very special day of Mauni Amavasya! Such a spiritual space and experience reminds me of how small and insignificant I am in the vastness of existence and how every moment that we are here is so special.”

While Milind expressed his joy, he also conveyed his sadness about the recent tragic stampede that took place at the event. The stampede, which occurred on Wednesday, claimed the lives of 30 people and left 60 others injured. Milind shared his heartfelt condolences, writing, “Even though my heart is full, I am saddened by the events of last night, and my prayers are with the families who lost loved ones. Har Har Gange! Har Har Mahadev!!”

The Mahakumbh Mela, which occurs every 12 years, has attracted millions of devotees this year. The tragic incident at the event has cast a shadow over the festivities, but the spiritual significance of the Mela continues to draw numerous visitors, including many celebrities.

Among other notable personalities who attended the Maha Kumbh Mela were Coldplay’s lead singer Chris Martin and his girlfriend, actress Dakota Johnson, who visited after their concert in Ahmedabad on January 27. Actor Anupam Kher also took a dip in the holy waters and shared his experience on Instagram, saying, “Life became successful by taking a bath in Ganga in Mahakumbh!! Reached the place where Mother Ganga, Jamuna, and Saraswati meet for the first time.”

Additionally, other celebrities such as actor-comedian Sunil Grover, choreographer Remo D’Souza, singer Shankar Mahadevan, and playback singer Guru Randhawa, as well as actress Mamta Kulkarni, have visited the Mela and shared their spiritual journeys on social media.
