NEWS CHARIOT : Dandumalakapurm, a village near the capital of Telangana, Hyderabad, has transformed into a major industrial hub. This village has become home to India’s first Green Industrial Park, which is bringing significant change to the region. Established in 2019, this park is set to accommodate 300 industries across 550 acres. It aims to develop industries in an eco-friendly and sustainable manner, setting a major milestone in industrial growth.

Industries and Development The Green Industrial Park is home to a variety of industries, including food processing, engineering, packaging, tiles, formulation, electrical, and electronics industries. Over 100 industries are currently under construction, and 175 industries have already started production. Given the park’s proximity to the Outer Ring Road of Hyderabad, it benefits from excellent transportation facilities.

Employment for Workers The industries in this park provide employment to thousands of workers from various states like Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar. Each industry employs hundreds of workers, with wages ranging from ₹20,000 to ₹40,000. Many workers live in the Dandumalakapurm area, and this region has come to be known as a “Mini India” due to the diverse workforce.

Public Development Alongside industrial growth, commercial activities have flourished. New grocery stores, hotels, fast food centers, and shopping complexes have been established. The demand for rental housing has increased, and business owners are eager to set up their shops in the area.

Future Development The Telangana Industrialists Federation has proposed the creation of a township with 100 acres of land for the workers living in the park. This township would offer workers a convenient place to live. Discussions are underway with the government regarding land allocation for this project.

Further Growth Prospects Apart from meeting the needs of workers, the park offers potential for establishing more industries due to its available land and infrastructure. Dandumalakapurm is expected to continue its development, with eco-friendly industries, improving the overall standard of living for its residents.
