Minister Sridhar Babu Urges Public to Use Fine Rice Scheme Responsibly

NEWS CHARIOT:-IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu has called upon the public to make honest and proper use of the newly launched Fine Rice Scheme, highlighting its core purpose of providing nutritious, high-quality rice to Below Poverty Line (BPL) families possessing ration cards.
While participating in various developmental activities in Kataram Mandal of Jayashankar Bhupalpally district alongside District Collector Rahul Sharma on Sunday, the Minister warned that any misuse or irregularities in the rice distribution process would invite strict action. He emphasized that the scheme is a welfare measure and should not be exploited.
As part of a grassroots outreach initiative, Sridhar Babu visited the home of a tribal beneficiary, Vankudoth Sammakka, and shared a meal prepared with fine rice. This visit aimed to promote awareness of the government’s effort to provide better food quality for economically disadvantaged families.
The Minister recalled that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Civil Supplies Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy launched the scheme on Ugadi to ensure BPL households receive nutritious meals. He personally inquired about the rice quality and explained the government’s incentive of ₹500 per bag for farmers cultivating fine-grain paddy.
Furthering the development agenda, the Minister distributed 100 desks and benches to eight government schools in the mandal, addressing long-standing infrastructure needs. He assured villagers that the government is committed to improving school facilities across the state and encouraged parents to prioritize their children’s education.
Highlighting youth empowerment, Sridhar Babu informed locals about the Rajiv Yuva Vikasam scheme, which offers subsidies between ₹50,000 and ₹4 lakhs. He encouraged eligible youth to apply, assuring a transparent selection process.
Additionally, the Minister announced preparations for the Saraswati Pushkaralu in Kaleshwaram, scheduled from May 15 to 26, with projects worth ₹35 crores aimed at enhancing facilities for visiting pilgrims.
