Mulug police paid tributes to sniffer dog Scamper

NEWS CHARIOT, (Mulug, Dec.01) : The police sniffer dog named Scamper (Labrador) belonging to the police department of Mulugu district was buried with full state honours in here on Monday.

Tango took its last breath suffering from illness after serving for over six years in the district headquarters

The district superintendent of police Sabarish along with the top police officials and the handler of the police dogs paid the floral tributes by placing the wreaths at the mortal remains and gave a traditional salute to the Scamper at the police training centre in Jagaram.

Speaking on the occasion, SP Sabarish said that from the six eight years, 2018 onwards, the sniffer dog Scamper, a male labrador, was discharging her duties in the police department of Mulugu district.

It played a key role in several crucial operations and helped police officials to crack down many cases and also in detection of various other crimes.

The police fired three rounds of fire in the air as mark of respect to the sniffer dog and after observing two minutes of silence, it was cremated with the State honours.

The Additional SP Chandraiah, Reserve Inspectors Yadagiri, Madhukar, Ramesh, Raja and Dog Squad staff paid tributes along with other police personnel.
